4 COMMON TYPES OF WAX THAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Choosing a suitable wax for our hair and skin might be a challenge for some of us. The variation of wax in the market is quite big and can be quite confusing. Here are some types of wax that you can find in the store and their characteristics to help you decide which type of wax is the best for you.

Hard Wax

Hard wax is a type of hair removal wax that is applied to the skin and then removed by being pulled off in one piece. It is made from natural ingredients such as beeswax and resin, and it is heated before being applied to the skin.

One of the benefits of hard wax is that it is less painful than other types of waxing because it only sticks to the hair and not the skin. It is also good for sensitive skin because it does not contain any harsh chemicals.

Hot Soft Wax

Soft wax is another type of hair removal wax that is applied to the skin and then removed using a strip of cloth or paper. It is made from a combination of natural and synthetic ingredients, and it is heated before being applied to the skin.

One of the benefits of soft wax is that it can be used on larger areas of the body, such as the legs or back. However, it can be more painful than hard wax because it sticks to the skin as well as the hair.

Sugar Wax

Sugar wax, also known as sugaring, is a type of hair removal wax that is made from natural ingredients such as sugar, lemon juice, and water. Sugar wax has been used to get rid of body hair since 1900 BC.  It is applied to the skin and then removed by pulling it off.

One of the benefits of sugar wax is that it is less painful than other types of waxing because it does not stick to the skin as much as other waxes. It is also good for sensitive skin because it does not contain any harsh chemicals.

Cold Wax

Cold wax is a type of hair removal wax that is pre-made and does not require heating before use. It is applied to the skin and then removed using a strip of cloth or paper.

One of the benefits of cold wax is that it is less messy than other types of waxing because it does not require heating. However, it is not effective on extremely thin hair, such as the vellus hair.

In a nutshell

Each type of wax are special on it's own. You can choose the best wax for your skin depending on your lifestyle and which part of body hair that you want to remove. In the end, you are the only one who knows your body well. All the best and happy waxing!
